About A spiritual and social center to meet, practice and preserve the Greek Orthodox religion and cultural heritage, and build bridges of integration through ministries, education, religious services, programs, events and activities open to all people. Story Saints Constantine and Helen Church is the first Greek Orthodox church to be built by Greeks in the city of Chicago. It was established on April 25, 1909 and opened its doors on October 1910. The campus also included a fulltime day school named after Adamantios Koraes, a Greek War of Independence hero. Today, Sts. Constantine and Helen Church continues this tradition by providing religious, educational and social opportunities to its members and the general public. The church consists of over 900 family memberships and continues to grow. Koraes School is fully accredited by the State of Illinois and offers full-time school programs for grades Pre-K to 8th with a curriculum that includes courses in the Greek language, heritage and religion. Sts. Constantine and Helen Church offers religious, social, educational and volunteer opportunities through the various ministries, sports programs, organizations, the Koraes School and year-round events and activities open to our membership and the community at large.
