Mission TRANSFORMING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH CHRIST-LIKE SERVICE MUSIC MINISTRY Choirs and handbells for Children, Youth & Adults COMMUNITY MINISTRY Deaf Ministry—Moffett’s Deaf Ministry provides ASL (American Sign Language) Interpretation during the 10:30 worship service every Sunday. Feeding Program—Our Saturday Feeding Program provides free meals to the needy among our neighborhood friends. Since November, 2004, Moffett members, two other churches, and one civic organization have fed approximately 150 people per week. Tutorial Program—We provide tutoring services for children who are in the 2nd grade at Woodrow Wilson Magnet School. Community Garden—Adults supervise children in the work involved in planting, growing, and harvesting a vegetable garden, instilling pride, a work ethic, self-esteem, and an appreciation of fresh foods. Grading Prison Papers—On the third Monday of each month, Moffett volunteers grade papers for Bible classes through the local Jail Ministry. Children’s Nutrition Program—Children are lead to prepare nutritious meals and to carry some home to their families. Hopefully, when the families see how tasty (and economical) the foods are, they will be inspired to prepare and eat more “healthy.” Clothes Closet—Free clothing is distributed to needy recipients from 3:00 to 4:30 pm on the first and third Thursdays of each month.
