About:
About Founded in 1893 providing for the needs of the local people. Operated by the Keck brothers and functioned as a lumber and ranch supply store in Cotulla. Story In June of 1893, two enterprising brothers, Thomas Randal and Edgar Allen Keck, purchased the existing firm of the Cotulla Lumber Company from W.W. Sloan. The new business was named Keck Brothers and functioned as a lumber and ranch supply store for Cotulla-La Salle County. Keck Bros. also produced chaps, pistor holsters, belts, and related leather goods for the ranching community. In 1903, Edgar Keck sold his portion of the business to T.R. Keck and returned to farming on the Nueces River; later relocating his family to California. The firm continued operations as T.R. Keck, Lumber and Hardware until the mid 1920's when the name was changed to include his two sons, Frank and Ray. In 1932, T.R. Keck died and his son, Frank served as manager of the store until his death in 1956. His son, Roy Randal, continued the tradition as manager until his death in 1998. In 2000, John H. Keck, grandson of Ray Keck, purchased the business. T.R. Keck and Sons continues to operate in the same location since 1893 and is proud of its 120 years of service to its customers in Cotulla and La Salle County.
