Come take a ride with us; you won't regret it. #stepintosteam Story The Marshall Steam Museum features the world's largest collection of operating Stanley steam cars, a 1914 Ford Model T, a 1916 electric car, and two 1930s Packards, plus the 1/8-size Auburn Valley Railroad with two coal-fired steam locomotives and a diesel-style train as well as Lionel electric trains display and so much more. Nestled in the small town of Yorklyn, Delaware, within Auburn Heights Preserve, the museum is operated by the Friends of Auburn Heights Preserve, Inc a 501(c)3 non-profit. Closed from December through March, the museum offers private tours, hosts Steamin' Day events (in which rides are offered in collection autos and trains, and has educational programs from April through November. Mission The mission of the Friends of Auburn Heights Preserve is to educate the public firsthand about an American way of life that flourished at the dawn of the automotive age, preserve the technology of historic steam transportation, and serve as advocate for the Auburn Heights Preserve.
