About Lyndon House Arts Center is operated by ACC Leisure Services as a center of excellence for the benefit and cultural enrichment of youth and adults. Open hours: Tuesday and Thursday, Noon - 9pm, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 9am - 5pm. Story Lyndon House Arts Center is operated by ACC Leisure Services as a center of excellence for the benefit and cultural enrichment of youth and adults. The center was renovated and significantly expanded through SPLOST and re-opened in 1999. The gallery exhibitions, historic house museum, festivals, workshops, art meetings, special events, and art classes aim to provide area citizens with a positive experience in the visual arts, encouraging them to appreciate the arts and to develop their creative talents. Mission The Lyndon House Arts Center: supports local artists in their creative development and exhibits their works with excellence and professionalism; provides the community with quality art education and events to celebrate our cultural heritage. The Lyndon House Arts Center is dedicated cultural place-making and enriching the Athens area through the inclusion of art in every aspect of everyday life. Lyndon House Arts Center offers rotating contemporary gallery exhibitions, an expansive art education program including classes, workshops and studio facilities for youth and adults, the Ware- Lyndon Historic House Museum (c. 1850) as well as cultural festivals and community events. Lyndon House Arts Center provides area citizens with a positive experience in the arts, enrichment through the arts for our community encouraging all to foster appreciation and creativity in the visual arts.
