About Designing for Years. Creating for Today. Located in the heart of Humble, TX. Story For more than 40 years the Skarbovig family has been welcoming friends and neighbors to browse through their store and take a look at the latest furniture styles while enjoying a relaxed and warm atmosphere. We opened our doors in 1970 in downtown Humble, Texas as The Colony Shop. Over the years the store has expanded, styles have changed and a second generation has taken over the family business. The store has changed beginning with the name: Furniture Traditions. Mission One idea remains, our philosophy of valuing our customers continues. We encourage our customer to "look around" and be comfortable while shopping our store. We build relationships with our customers; that's been the tradition in our family since we opened in 1970.
