About The Arkansas State Library, Infromation Services, serves as the information resource center for state agencies, legislators and legislative staffs, while also serving the state's libraries and the citizens of Arkansas. Story The Arkansas State Library serves as a resource for state government, for public libraries and for all Arkansas citizens. Mission The mission of the Arkansas State Library is to serve as the information resource center for state agencies, legislators and legislative staffs, to promote guidance and support for the development of local public libraries and library services, and to provide the resources, services, and leadership necessary to meet the educational, informational and cultural needs of the citizens of Arkansas Products The agency administers state and federal funds appropriated for libraries and library development, including State Aid to Public Libraries funds and federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds. The agency is the Clearinghouse for state documents. It is also a regional U.S. Federal Depository Library. The Arkansas State Library is the only U.S. Patent and Trademark Depository Library (http://www.uspto.gov) in Arkansas.
