It was originally a farm and later served as the Chester County Fairgrounds, which hosted automobile and horse racing. When the property was sold to Rolling Green in February 1938, its heritage as the Philadelphia area's premier African-American cemetery had begun. There are many well-known celebrities in the sports and entertainment worlds who have their family's burial estates at Rolling Green Memorial Park. There are also numerous government officials and veterans of major wars buried at Rolling Green. Rolling Green Memorial Park has a rich history of tradition and is open to all people, regardless of their race, religion, creed, or national origin.
