This service includes patrol, investigations and crime prevention activities. We have an open door policy and encourage you to call or stop by anytime you have questions about the police department. The goal of the Louisville Police department is to promote and maintain a safe environment for residents and visitors to enjoy. We rely on the involvement of the community to accomplish this goal. Mission The purpose of every police agency is based upon the protection of and service to its citizens. The Louisville Police Department exists to provide that protection of life and property as well as a high level of police service. It is the mission of the Louisville Police Department to prevent crime through education and awareness and to apprehend violators of the law when crime occurs. We complete our mission of enforcement of state law, local ordinances and federal statutes through the implementation of modern police methods with the highest level of professional standards and ethics.
