Story Welcome to Jefferson Parish Employees Federal Credit Union (JPEFCU), your credit union-proudly serving the financial needs of our members since our charter was signed October 23, 1959. We’ve come a long way – evolving into a full service financial institution – and yet we still practice the same fundamental principles set by our credit union pioneers. Since the first credit union was organized in the United States in 1909, the basis for credit unions’ existence has been that their members and co-workers pool their savings money together creating available funds to meet the borrowing needs of their fellow members and co-workers.
