He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the 11th Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and all Federal and bankruptcy Courts in Florida, as well as the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. He was formerly a Captain in the U.S. Army JAG Corps and was stationed in Texas, Korea, Japan, and Georgia. He earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law and obtained his bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He speaks Japanese, some Korean, is an Eagle Scout, and enjoys scuba diving and underwater photography.
