Story Iowa City Municipal Airport, is a public use airport located 2mi southwest of the central business district of Iowa City, a city, in Johnson County, Iowa, United States. It is the oldest civil airport west of the Mississippi River still in its original location.It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a regional general aviation facility.The airport does not have scheduled airline service, the closest airport with scheduled airline service is The Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids, about 19mi to the northwest.Facilities and aircraftIowa City Municipal Airport covers an area of 450acre at an elevation of 683ft above mean sea level. It has two runways: 7/25 is 5,002 by 100 feet (1,525 x 30 m) with a concrete surface; 12/30 is 3,900 by 75 feet (1,189 x 23 m), with a concrete surface. The airport has approved GPS and VOR Instrument approaches.
