About Meadowood Park is a county park operated by the Kanawha County Parks and Recreation Commission. Story Meadowood Park is a 90-acre county park operated by the Kanawha County Parks and Recreation Commission. Park features include: -Two public boat launch sites on the Coal River Water Trail -5 walking trails, including a portage trail around Upper Falls for boaters -Pettigrew Lake, an 8-acre fishing lake with a handicapped fishing pier -Soccer fields - WV DNR Public boat access sites above and below the falls -Portage trail around falls for boaters -Canoe and kayak rentals through Coal River Kayak Meadowood Park is also home to the Coal River Group Science & Education Center and the Mountaineer RC flying club
