About We are a quaint art and history museum. We celebrate, display and support the history and culture of Abita Springs. Story We are a quaint folk art museum. Our mission is to celebrate, display and support the history and culture of Abita Springs. Annual events include the Abita Springs Push Mow Parade, the Whole Town Garage Sale, En Plein Air, the Abita Springs Busker Festival, and the Louisiana Bicycle Festival. We are open Fridays and Saturdays 10am - 4pm and Sundays noon - 4pm. Admission is free. Handicapped accessible. (985) 871-5327 Abita Springs Park is in the town's Historic District, along the Abita River where Choctaw Indians settled. It hosts diverse music and and water festivals. Open all year, the Park offers the Museum, a bike trail, amphitheater, an historic pavilion, covered picnic areas, a splash pad, and a children's playground. Within a short drive, you can tour the Abita Brewery and the UCM Museum (a.k.a. the Abita Mystery House), the Nature Conservancy's Abita Creek Preserve, and golf courses.
