About Premier childhood education for children in Gig Harbor, Washington ages 6 weeks- 5 years old. Story Simply put, children learn best by doing – by exploring, playing and being “hands-on” learners. The curriculum at Cadence Academy Preschool is built for your enthusiastic child. Keeping children safe during their day at Cadence Academy is of utmost importance. Our teachers establish guidelines in the classroom to involve children in a world of exploration, and for keeping them safe during that exploration. Mission A message from our Director, DJ Miller: I have worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for 32 years. After all that time, I still get excited about watching the children learn and grow. I feel very connected to the children, and our families. I can’t get through a Pre-K graduation without shedding a few tears! I find it rewarding to pass on my passion for this field with our amazing staff. My experience includes a variety of philosophies and curriculums, including Montessori, High Scope, Reggio Emilia, and our own Kaleidoscope curriculum. I like to take a little of what works best from each and enhance the learning experience in our classrooms. When you walk into our school, you will be greeted by our positive energy and enthusiasm. So many families have told me, “you just know when it’s right!” …and you will too! Products *Infants* Nurturing, with focus on the individual needs of infants, our loving teachers partner with parents as they incorporate baby sign language, stories and songs. *Toddlers* A time of early independence and language development, our toddler curriculum is full of exploration and discovery. *Early Learners* We don’t believe in the “terrible twos”! Our lively and interactive program engages your child in social development and fosters a love of learning. *Preschool* From art to music to fitness, every activity encourages children to become self-confident and enthusiastic learners, as they embrace their environment while exploring in our classroom Discovery areas. *Pre-Kindergarten* We’ve earned a stellar reputation for outstanding Kindergarten readiness focusing on language, math, phonics and classroom environment skills.
