About The development of healthy youth through the game of soccer. Story Hockessin Soccer Club’s Board of Directors has approved affiliating with Rush Soccer. Growing from the Colorado Rush, Rush Soccer is a nationally recognized youth soccer organization with over 40,000 players in 26 states. Rush has a cooperative system to share training / coaching systems, strong / proven player development programs and expanded player / team opportunities. HSC’s vision: Soccer For All. HSC’s Mission: Promote the sport of soccer to a wide range of participants. Rush Soccer’s Commitment: The development of healthy youth through the game of soccer, with a firm belief in the value of sports in promoting the physical, mental and social well-being of our children. After a thorough review, HSC’s Board is convinced that these two philosophies dovetail, and that the national affiliation available from Rush Soccer provides club members with development and playing opportunities beyond what we can provide alone. Since its inception in 1989, HSC has prided itself on our strong ties to local area families, schools and businesses. That will remain. The HSC Board views this evolution of the club as an enhancement to the programs we offer to our community. Rush Soccer's objective is development of a national level club cooperative system that offers substantial opportunities for national corporate sponsorship and foundation support, provides the framework for a national coach and player development network, and serves as a significant pool of talent for consideration by European, MLS, NCAA, US National and Olympic soccer programs. At HSC (and going forward as Delaware Rush) we strive to develop our players to have opportunities to play at any level. This partnership will increase those opportunities for our players. We are using a phased approach in the transition to Delaware Rush, begin with all our Representative teams, age groups U12 and above, for the 2012-2013 season. U9 – U11 representative teams (developmental academy) and instructional soccer will remain HSC for the 2012-2013 season. The Board, the Steering Committee, and many club member volunteers, will be focused on making this a successful transition. With our recreational leagues, competitive leagues, and soccer camps our players are able to enjoy participation, sportsmanship, teamwork, and progress to higher levels of competition. Delaware FC provides soccer programs to the local northern Delaware region including Hockessin, Wilmington, and beyond!"
