About Doctor with Orthopedic Center for Sports Medicine. Graduate from Louisiana Health and Sciences Center. Saints & LSU Fan. Story Dr. Russo is an independent orthopedic surgeon. He graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2009 and completed his internship at Louisiana State University Charity Hospital in 2010. Upon completion of his residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2014 he went on to complete his fellowship at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. He has received several awards, honors and recognition including Resident Paper of the Year through the Louisiana Orthopedic Association in 2012, 2013, and 2014, Intern of the Year Nominee at LSU Interim Public Hospital in 2010, and AOA (Alpha Omega Alpha) Medical Honor Society in 2008. Dr. Russo is currently board eligible in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Impressum Dr. Russo is a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon who trained at LSU and then at Houston taking care of professional sports teams such as the Houston Texans, Astros, and Rockets as well as Rice University Athletics. He treats all orthopedic problems but has a passion for local sports injuries and getting people back in the game!
