About We're looking forward to seeing you! Our libraries welcome the one million readers, learners, doers, & dreamers of Tucson and Pima County, AZ. Story Hello from the Nanini Library of the Pima County Public Library system! The Pima County Public Library provides books, computers, movies, music, literacy and job help programming and much more to the residents of Pima County. The primary writer for this Facebook page is Natalie. Commenting guidelines for the public: http://www.library.pima.gov/social-media-community-guidelines/ History: The Nanini Library is located in an unincorporated part of Pima County. Bill and Rosemary Nanini, longtime local residents and philanthropists, donated the land for the library in 1978. The donation was made with the intent of creating a government center for the residents of the northern part of Pima County. The building dedication ceremony was held on October 6, 1979. (The library had opened earlier on September 25.) The building was constructed with funds approved in a special bond election in 1974. The library is named in honor of Sam and Giaconda Nanini, Bill Nanini's parents. At that time the building contained a total of 11750 square feet, with the possibility for future expansion. An example of energy efficiency, it had three flat plate solar collectors to heat its own water.
