About What is Reform Judaism? Throughout history, Jews have remained rooted in Jewish tradition, Judaism frozen in time is an heirloom, not a living fountain. Story Welcome to Temple Beth El, a Reform Jewish congregation serving the central coast from Santa Maria since 1969. We are the heart of Jewish life in Santa Maria, Calif. We worship on Shabbat using the traditional prayers of our Jewish heritage in the comfortable environment of our synagogue's sanctuary. Services begin at 7:30 p.m. every Friday. Our services are led by a permanent part-time rabbi, Rabbi Dov Gottesfeld, and qualified lay leaders. We welcome interfaith families. We offer regular education programs and Saturday morning Torah studies. Join our Temple Beth El Community Perform the mitzvah of attending services and being part of a minyan.
