About The Aspen Historical Society enriches the community through preserving and communicating our remarkable history. Story The Aspen Historical Society currently manages four different sites: Wheeler / Stallard Museum Location: 620 West Bleeker Street Time: Open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 1 pm to 5 pm. Fee: $6 adults | $5 seniors (admission fee also includes the Holden/Marolt Museum) Children under 12 FREE. Holden / Marolt Mining and Ranching Museum Location: 40180 Highway 82, just over the pedestrian bridge off Music School Lane Time: Open June 17 - October 4 1 - 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday Winter Hours - By Appointment Only Fee: $6 Adults | $5 seniors (admission fee also includes the Wheeler/Stallard Museum) Children under 12 FREE. Group and family rates available Independence Ghost Town Location: 16 miles east of Aspen on Highway 82 Time: "Ghost" interpretation available seven days a week, 9:00am - 5:00pm, June 14 through Labor Day. Fee: Suggested donation $3/adults Children under 12 FREE. Ashcroft Ghost Town Location: 10 miles south of Aspen on the Castle Creek Road Time: Guided tours available in summer.
