About Pediatric Dentistry of Texarkana is a dental office that specializes in the care of children, teens and patients with special needs. We are committed to providing treatment to our patients in a kid-friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Story Dr. Glass is a specialty trained dentist to treat the oral health needs of infants, children and young adults. He attended the University of Tennessee Pediatric Dental Residency for 2 years after graduating dental school to obtain this level of training. Many children are apprehensive about the dentist, and while pediatric dentists can not always remove this apprehension, they do their best to make it as easy and successful as possible to help ensure a life long relationship between your child and their dentist. Why a PEDIATRIC DENTIST? We get asked this question a bunch! A pediatric dentist is different from a family/general dentist. A pediatric dentist has had extended training in pediatrics. A general dentist is perfectly capable and often do a great job treating children, and many general dentist choose to only see kids. Whether or not you choose to take your child to a pediatric dentist verses a family dentist or a general dentist that just treats kids is completely up to you. Another way to look at it is, the same way that some parents prefer for their kids to see a pediatrician instead of a family physician, some parents prefer their kids to see a pediatric dentist instead of a family/general dentist.
