Temple Beth El is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism and its Central District, which represents the liberal tradition of Judaism. As a house of worship, a center of teaching and learning and a place of communal fellowship, the Temple’s progressive voice is heard and respected not only in Madison, but also throughout Wisconsin. Led by Rabbi Jonathan Biatch, the congregation plays a dynamic part in the religious and civic life of the community—a role encouraged by the Temple’s founding Rabbi, of blessed memory, Dr. Manfred Swarsensky.
