About Building a community center for Muslims of the greater Bensalem area for carrying out religious, educational, social and cultural activities. Story OVERVIEW Faith Unity, Inc. is a religious, tax-exempt non-profit (501c registered) corporation based in Bensalem, Pa working towards fulfilling basic educational, religious and social needs of Muslims. We seek to build social and cultural bridges between Muslims and our community/neighbors through interfaith dialogue. Some services include daily prayers, Jumah, Eid, Taraweeh; Islamic, Arabic classes for children and adults; halaqah for ladies and families; educational seminars; interfaith awareness/discussions; annual picnic. We are currently based out of the Newport Fire House in Bensalem, Pa (2,400 sq. ft.). BACKGROUND 1999: Congregational Services (Jumah) established at local business w/ township permission 2002: Faith Unity Inc, registered as a 501c non-profit 2004: moved Jumah services to banquet hall of a local restaurant 2004-2006: Eid prayers held at rented hall 2006:-present: Newport Firehouse MAJOR AIMS Provision of a forum leading to better understanding of, cooperation in, and promotion of deeds of common good irrespective of gender, color, creed, race, ethnicity, religion, language, or nation of origin. Promotion and encouragement of interfaith dialog and exchange of knowledge leading to enhanced understanding between diverse social, cultural and religious groups. Faith Unity, Inc. is a tax-exempt, registered non-profit organization focused on integrating people with a common faith in God. It works toward the good of people irrespective of their religion, gender, race, nationality and ethnicity. Membership is open to all.
