About Youth Development. Healthy Living. Social Responsibiltly. Story The YMCA of Steuben County is an excellent facility and is a distinguished Association! Five noteworthy community leaders formed a vision, which then turned into a study that was administrated to determine community needs and interests in a local YMCA. The determination of the community leaders, as well as a structured plan, created a Christian based organization that was established in June of 1999. We opened the doors to the Breeden YMCA on January 3, 2000 at 5:00 a.m. We were renamed the YMCA of Steuben County in October 2010. Mission To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
