About IMA brings to the islands fine art exhibitions, workshops and lectures, plus an ongoing celebration of island artists and support of art education. Mission Connecting people with art that inspires, challenges, enlightens and educates. FULFILLING OUR MISSION • Develop and operate an accreditation-eligible visual arts museum in Friday Harbor serving the San Juan Islands • Present inspiring and engaging exhibitions and lectures reflecting the best in all of the visual arts and particularly those of the northwestern United States and southwestern Canada • Create enjoyable educational programs and experiences for youth adults and artists • Support the growth of the local arts community and work collaboratively with other community groups
