About Rent a Car, Rent a Truck, Rent a Van or Buy a Quality Used Car from AutoWorld Santa Cruz Story It would be difficult to find anyone with as much experience in the rental car and used car industry as AutoWorld Santa Cruz owner, Doug Factor. He’s been involved in the car business for over 50 years! Although born and raised in Wyoming, Doug and his young family moved to Santa Cruz in 1962 when Doug was offered a partnership in a local dealership. In 1979, when the dealership closed, Doug decided to strike out on his own. It was then that AutoWorld Santa Cruz was born. Twenty-five years later, AutoWorld Santa Cruz is one of the few remaining independent, locally-owned car rental and used car dealerships in Santa Cruz. With the help of Doug’s daughter, Stephanie, and long-term staff members, Nancy, Amy and Charo, AutoWorld Santa Cruz has achieved a reputation for providing personal, friendly service. That, and a willingness to go beyond what’s expected to help, not only its customers, but the larger community of Santa Cruz, is one of the many reasons AutoWorld continues to thrive.
