About Shafter Shootin Irons was opened with the single purpose of doing everything possible to make purchasing firearms, ammo or accessories a pleasant experience. Providing friendly one on one service to help y'all find exactly the right items. Story As a leading provider of firearms, ammunition and accessories, we take pride in offering the best products and personalized service available. Our owner Randy Walker, is a veteran of the US Army, and a former Peace Officer and Chief of Police. His firearms experience includes qualification as an Expert Marksman in the Military specializing in Light Weapons where he qualified with: Pistol Rifle Automatic Rifle M60 Machine Gun 50 Caliber Machine Gun 90 Recoilless Rifle 81MM Mortar As a Law Enforcement officer Randy's service included: Founder and K9 handler, Mariposa Sheriff's Office K9 Unit. Member of the Cabazon Department of Public Safety Gang Unit. Founder of the Cabazon Department of Public Safety Color Guard Unit. Member of the Cabazon Department of Public Safety Special Tactics Response Team. Founder and Chief of Police, 29 Palms Department of Public Safety. Founder and member, 29 Palms Department of Public Safety Combat Pistol Team. Founder of the 29 Palms Department of Public Safety Gang Unit. Randy is an avid recreational shooter and hunter, proficient with handguns, rifles and shotguns. A member of the California Peace Officer Association, National Rifle Association (NRA), National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), California Rifle and Pistol Association, and the North American Hunting Club, National Hunting Gear Field Test Panel. He is also a Founding Sponsor and member of the US Army National Museum and the American Legion. Randy enjoys visiting with, and discussing his passion for shooting and hunting with others.
