Since April 2008, the Granville Museum has been proud to host "Sutton Ole Time Music Hour" at the Sutton General Store. Each Saturday night performances stream worldwide and is syndycated for radio stations in a similar style to the Grand Ole Opry. Granville was the birthplace of Uncle Jimmy Thompson. He was the first performer on the Grand Ole Opry with the Solemn Judge George D. Hay. We have a special exhibit in the museum honoring them with recordings of the first show, a letter from the Grand Ole Opry, Henry Ford giving Thompson an award for performing for the President of the United States at Ford's home and much more.
