Story The Upper Iowa Center in Des Moines, IA, opened in 1984. It serves more than 600 students with courses leading to 16 majors as well as nursing programs, endorsements in teacher education, certificate programs and associate degrees. Many of the courses are taught by full-time UIU faculty members and others are taught by adjunct faculty who draw on their practical experiences in the field. Courses are offered during six eight-week terms.
