About STMA is a single artist museum located in rural Georgia offering a range of programs including visiting exhibitions, workshops, and community outreach. Mission The Steffen Thomas Museum of Art is open and staffed on a regular schedule. It is dedicated to providing art education programs and projects for children and adults in rural Northeast and Middle Georgia Communities. The museum utilizes the work of Georgia Master Artist Steffen Thomas as Modern Art examples of creative expression through its large collection of his sculpture, paintings, mosaics, ceramics, furniture, works on paper, personal papers and artifacts documenting his life. The Steffen Thomas Museum and Archives, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. The museum provides opportunities for students and adults to develop their own talents, to find a deeper understanding of themselves, their connections to all living things and their responsibility for conserving the environment. The museum is also dedicated to exhibiting and preserving its Permanent Collection for future generations.
