First of all, I am not familiar with Uyghur cuisine at all. Found this little restaurant during our visit to Fairfax and oh my god was I pleasantly surprised! The food was a perfect blend of different flavours; not too spicy, not too sweet. The textures were pretty new to me, but I enjoyed it very much! The ambiance was also nice, the interior was inviting and warm. The service was good. The only downside might be the parking situation, the parking space was extremely narrow. But other than that, it was a pleasant experience! This is a must try halal restaurant if you are visiting Fairfax.
Walking into this Uygur restaurant, you're immediately embraced by the warm, inviting atmosphere and the aromatic scents of authentic Central Asian cuisine. The decor is a tasteful homage to Uygur culture, featuring vibrant textiles and traditional musical instruments adorning the walls. The menu is a delightful exploration of Silk Road flavors. Star dishes include the perfectly spiced lamb kebabs, succulent and grilled to perfection, and the hand-pulled noodles, which are a revelation in both texture and taste. Manty, laghman noodle, Samsa, lamb kebab in sticks, Gul tea and Uygur cake were awesome. Service at this restaurant is impeccable. Staff are not only friendly but also eager to share their knowledge of Uygur culture and cuisine, enhancing the dining experience with their insights and recommendations. What sets this restaurant apart is its dedication to authenticity and quality. Ingredients are always fresh, and each dish is prepared with care and precision, ensuring that every bite is a testament to Uygur culinary excellence. In conclusion, this Uygur restaurant isn't just a place to eat; it's a destination for a cultural and culinary journey that delights all the senses. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the rich flavors and traditions of Uygur cuisine.
I just found my new favourite restaurant after eating here for the first time! I tried many of the dishes here and they were so delicious! There is a huge variety of dishes with everything ranging from noodles to kebab so there is something for everyone. My favourite dish I tried here was the lamb shank with the traditional Uyghur sauce. The meat is very tender and the sauce has a very unique flavour to it. The naan here is the best I’ve ever had. My waiter was extremely friendly, attentive, and pleasant. She gave us suggestions on what to order and we had good conversation about culture with her. All the waiters here are Uyghur so it is a great representation of the culture and food here. I like the paintings on the wall and it is well decorated. The dining experience is very authentic and definitely worth the price! I definitely will come back to this place again!
I love this restaurant! Every dishes were so delicious. The waiter who served our table was so friendly, nice and polite. We ordered what he recommended. Egg plant salad, Noodle the top of the menu, sorry I forget the name…, Lamb skewers, Dumpling Soup, and Uyghur Cake. The noodle is nice flavor and chicken was so tender. The lamb tasted amazing, soft and nice spices. The cake was not overly sweet, nice thick pie layer:
Very unique place! I had never had this kind of food so I was really excited to try it! It tasted very similar to many other Asian dishes I have had so it wasn't anything crazy. I thought it was good! My favorite part though was the butter Naan, it was delicious! The noodles tasted very fresh and i thoroughly enjoyed them as well! The waiters never came by to refill water cups or check on anything even though it was not busy. They mostly just stood behind the counter and messed around with each other so I wasn't very impressed with the service. It almost felt like we were putting them out by being there.... Parking: We parked a bit up the street in a small public parking lot.
Great Authentic Restaurant in DMV Area - parking is very tight, so recommend street parking. Fantastic noodle dishes and great mom & pop business to support for sure. Lamb and Chicken skewers are delicious as well. Parking: There is a parking garage in the walking distance
incredibly delicious food! very unique cuisine. it’s pretty small inside, so you’ll be close to your neighbors but you still have plenty of room. not much atmosphere to speak of, but who cares when the food is as good as it is? 10/10 would recommendFood: 5/5
Food is delicious, but I have noticed that portions got much smaller Other than that all of the times servers are down look tired sometimes got side eyes Atmosphere is somewhat good
If you like authentic and small then it is an ideal place. They bring out the food as it is ready. Not as common in the US, but all the food is made to order and made quickly. The lamb, the salmon kebab, the manta and the samsa were all delicious and very flavorful.Food: 5/5
So I left a 3 star review for following reasons. I ordered uyghur salad, dapanchi, and Eerkin's special lamb shank. Now I loved their taste and it is not bad at all. Lamb was cooked so well that meat comes off so easily and very comfortable to eat it with it being savory. Dapanchi had great chicken with very good consistency when they cooked it. Salad was okay but felt like a rabbit food than a salad to me. They should include rice with each main dish or salad just like many restaurants do.. The main reason is that they made all these food with minimal ingredients to get it there but I didn't feel like it was valuable nor worth the money that they charge it. I still paid it so that I could try it but they weren't worth the price range they are charging at. If you don't mind and really crave uyghur style food then I would say try them but don't expect a lot. Lower your expectations.
