This is the first place my wife took me out to dinner over 40 years ago on a date. It remains our favorite Mexican restaurant, but since we don't live near it, it's a special occasion when we get there. It gets busy, so off days and off hours make it a more enjoyable meal if you are eating there. They're often families with children and large groups. So if you want a date night dinner try to get in the front on the upper level which only has tables for two or four people. We stopped there on our trip home to pick up takeout. While waiting for our food, we sat at the bar and both had a margarita, chips and salsa which was delicious. I took home a vegetarian meal even though I'm not a vegetarian. I wish we ordered an extra order of chips and salsa to have the following night with the leftovers. When El Bandido first opened, it was the only Mexican restaurant around. While there are now numerous places to get Mexican food, El Bandido remains one of the best. It has hardly changed over the years. If you enjoy eating Mexican food you should definitely try it out. El Bandido.
Second time here and it was as good as the first time. It's a 30min drive for me but I don't mind taking a ride once in awhile. I think its worth the drive. The place is nicely decorated and clean. The staff is very welcoming and really friendly. I've spent at least $50 each time I've been there. Can be a little pricey but I think the food is worth it. I cleaned the plate both times I have gone.
Surprisingly good Mexican food, served quickly by a friendly and attentive waitstaff. Many lunch specials to choose from. This was a welcome lunch stop during a long road trip that we were lucky to discover. Recommended!Dine in: Yes
Very authentic mexican place. Love the complete look and feel of the place. The place has pretty outdoor seating. The food options are enuf to feed an army. The fresh drinks and the bar is great for friends evening. Love the staff attire and the graffitti on the celling of the resturant
We went here on Christmas, and is was a wonderful occasion! The food was exactly as ordered. We had nachos, and enchiladas that were PERFECT. Wait staff was so kind and the owner came around to check on us and was so nice. We love this place!
Food was a sizable portion, very hot and fresh, staff was great and extremely friendly. The location has lots of parking and is easy to find. I had the Taco, Chimichanga and burrito trio. It is also served with rice and beans. Try. Each one of the three has a choice of beef, chicken or pork. The decor inside was very interesting, lots going on and very traditional feeling.
Ok Mexican food, Service not to good. Nice Mexican atmosphere. Parking: Plenty of parking in lot.
I usually don't leave reviews, it either has to be extremely good or just bad. Well this one is bad, I will keep it simple and short. 28 dollars for a medium size chicken fajitas is EXPENSIVE. and it was not even good. The plate included some chicken, rice, beans, and onions. no other veggies, no guac. For 28 dollars you expect a big portion, and I'm only 140 lbs, but this was really shameful. in other restaurants- this plate is around 15 dollars and includes also veggies and Guac with a much bigger portion. -No one ever came to ask how was the food, no water refills, and most importantly, my friend had some questions about one of the menu items, his answer was that he doesn't speak English, oh come on. Dear customers who go to this place often, you guys either don't know what good food is or just overpaying for this joke, go to Texas or Arizona to for comparison.
Drinks are a problem, food is delicious. I ordered a diet Coke, received the smallest bottle I ever did see, with a glass too small for children, lol. I asked for a large glass and received a 1/2 size one, I gave up and asked for a large water, which did arrive in a normal 14oz glass. Guacamole was very good, Chorizo with cheese starter was also excellent.
Loved the food. Service was the great. You know when a restaurant is special when the owner is present and working! We will definitely come back.
