I used to eat here at least once a week and have never had a bad experience until today. I placed a order for pickup, upon arrival I was greeted by one of the male waiters that asked for the name on my order. I gave him my name he took a look at an order that was sitting on the shelf behind him my order and said I'll go check on your order. 10 minutes pass by I'm waiting at the counter with no update. When I turn around the same waiter that is supposedly "checking on my order" was in the corner talking to another worker. Finally a nice woman who works there walks up and asks me what the name on my order is, and hands me the food that's now been sitting on the shelf for god know how long. She was very apologetic and nice about everything. But things only got worse when I got home and tried to eat the rice dishes we ordered 4. The rice is spoiled to the point it made me gag. The food was so bad that we had to toss the entire order. That's $60 worth of food in the trash. MY DOG REFUSED TO EAT IT... AND HE EATS EVERYTHING!!!!
Had the Taco salad. Crisp shell with beef, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream and sauce. Margaritas any flavor are awesome. I like sitting in their booths. Cozy for date night or privacy for laughing with your female friends. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu looked good. Wheelchair accessibility: Can come right into restaurant through 2 doors.
Arturo was awesome! He was very busy but didn't miss a beat. Highly recommend. This is my daughter's favorite place! She says it's easy better than any other restaurant, including other El Maguey's.Food: 5/5
I was just here and the food was better than the first time I'd been here. The waiter that we had worked really hard running around the room to the different tables and made sure everyone got what they needed. We had a few mistakes at our table but our waiter quickly fixed those and he apologized each time. None of us were mad though bc we saw how hard he was working and it's totally understandable with how short staffed everyone is.
Busy on a Friday night. Everyone worked really hard to move people waiting. We had a large party and eventually got a table together which was great. I think because they were so busy, we had one item that we had to have them remake and things otherwise came out at different times kids food last to come. I’ve heard things are better when it’s not peak time in that regards. Food was tasty and overall a decent price. I’d recommend.
Our server wasn't as attentive as they could have been. Especially towards the end of the meal. It wasn't busy when we first arrived and it hit the lunch rush while we were there and died down again. Food was good and I could see another server making this experience wonderful.Food: 4/5
I ordered something that was supposed to come with a corn tortilla. They used a flour one. I try to watch my gluten intake. I didn't think I needed to make sure since the menu said corn.... frustrating.Food: 3/5
Baby, if he wasn’t married I’d take him. The chef is always amazing and our orders are always fresh, hot, correct and most importantly FLAVORFUL ‼ Hunny I need a blanket. I’ll sleep in the queso blanco! No matter what time or day we go it’s always great! Allyssa is the best!
Delicious, authentic food. Consistency is what this place is about. From the food to the service, it is always good. Longest we've waited was 10 minutes for a table. Kid-friendliness: We always bring our girls. 1 yo and 12 yo. Great family atmosphere. Parking: Parking is available at all times. Very limited storefront spots but plenty in the Dierbergs lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Everything appears to be wheelchair accessible.
Great Mexican restaurant with great decorations and vibe. The chips and salsa are solid. They have all the classic Mexican dishes you can expect at reasonable prices. Good lunch specials and happy hours. The platters are large and filling.
