Story

Since El Palomar’s opening in 1983, Jose and Amelia Espinoza have been serving Santa Cruz unique and fresh Mexican cuisine inspired by authentic family recipes. Our commitment to excellence has continuously earned El Palomar the award of “Best Mexican Restaurant in Santa Cruz.”

El Palomar boasts a full bar with an extensive, hand-picked tequila selection. Join us every Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm for happy hour specials on our house margaritas and 100% agave margaritas. You can also enjoy our beer on tap.

We also feature a Taco Bar for those on the go, as well as banquet and catering services to bring the experience to any event or location.

I love the bar area. It is bright and has a good atmosphere. The drinks are good, and the food is pretty good.

Great place to eat with your love ones, very unique and delicious Mexican food. Also looks fancy. It's worth the 30 mins wait. Coming back soon!! Thanks to the staff.

The food is always delicious, they have a killer veggie burrito, but their meats options are the most popular. They have a full bar available to all 3 dining rooms. The first area is counter service, the second is seat yourself and the last room is more formal. Everything is reasonably priced and there's garage parking directly behind the restaurant.

Best micheladas and chilequiles I've ever had! The cantina dining area was so nice and the staff was super friendly and attentive! I wish I lived in Santa cruz so I can come here more often!

The locals love to visit El Palomar. Friendly staff greet you with tasty foods.
Beach Volleyball and dolphins usually take up the viewing attentions, but lately the excitement of new roadway construction that might ease the tourist traffic congestion of those getting stuck in the sand to the east and the harbor dredging have created more reasons to come down for lunch or dinner. If you're just walking the beach i highly suggest popping in to the mirrored bar to whet your appetite!
