Really can't say enough great things about this beautiful little gem. I flew solo into this place, which in itself is an odd experience for me, but I quickly became comfortable and relaxed in the fun and welcoming atmosphere. The food was awesomely delicious, the service was outstanding... the drinks, oh man... Well, the drink I had, and I'm assuming all drinks judging by the fact that every single table had at least 1 drink on them and they all looked delicious... was bomb AF. I had the mixed fajitas after much deliberation, and I was not disappointed. It was just hard to pick one thing because the entire menu is so enticing, and everything looks so amazing. I'm gonna have to go back an endless number of times just to eat everything else I wanted to try and eat!! Shout out to Jose for his gracious personality, amazing service, and especially for hooking that orange margarita up with the Tajin magic... Truly amazing Better believe I'll be back for more of everything
Fantastic Mexican food!! I highly recommend this place as the taste of food was great and found the portions very well sized. The staff was very friendly, fun, and quickly delivered everything that was asked for. Will definitely go back again!!
Wow this place was awesome. Great flavor and perfect portions. I wish the chips had salt on them but that’s just my preference. The house salsa has deep flavor and also just a tad of a kick which I wasn’t expecting. The carnitas tacos were especially delicious. We very much enjoyed our time here and plan to come back soon. The only grip I would have is the location I fee is too small for the business. When we left there has to be about 20+ people waiting for tables. This isn’t a knock but a testament to how good the food is people are willing to wait to be served.
Surprisingly empty for dinner on Sunday which made me nervous, but all was great. Service, food presentation and taste were all good. The steak could be a little better, but also pretty on par with what you’d find at most Mexican places. Salsa was fantastic. $2.50 any bottled beer on Sundays - hard to beat these days. Mostly renovated and clean in appearance although the initial table we sat at smelled of dirty rag. Generally speaking, I think they are a step above a typical Mexican joint, especially compared to it’s surrounding peers with 4+ stars.
Incredible menu selections with amazing food. Fast, friendly and attentive service. I have never been a fan of Mexican food. After coming here I realized that I absolutely love Mexican food, as long as it's authentic not the Americanized version of Mexican food. I got the carne super burrito and it was delicious! The owner stopped by our table to check on us. He is very friendly. It is clear he has a love and passion for his restaurant, and cares about his customer's and the service staff. One person in our party asked for lingua in a taco. It was succulent and perfectly flavored, which is hard to find. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
Amazing! Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen these days, but El Taco Loco raises the bar. The Tropical Guacamole appetizer was a taste of heaven. Our main entrees were equally amazing. I drove 40 minutes to try this place and i would do it again and again, easily.
You can tell how much love goes into this place by the way you are first greeted, by the authentic Mexican hand-painted art and other murals that are all around, the attention to details and how delicious the food is prepared. The Brunswick and surrounding communities are lucky that this family shares their authentic food and traditions with us. It's a really fun place to go to get your bellies full of tacos and margaritas and I definitely recommend any of their ice cream desserts! There's food for everyone you will not be disappointed.
The entree I ordered, a Faja bowl - was delicious. The host that seated us was very friendly. Aside from that, there are a few things that keep this rating at three stars. 1. The music was very loud. We brought it up twice during our lunch, having to really strive to order over the volume, but nothing changed. 2. We ordered queso fundido. We had not received it by the time our food arrived. It was comped, which we appreciated. It was also quite greasy. 3. The tortilla chips. When you go to a Mexican restaurant, there are always tortilla chips and salsa provided, so it's fair to judge a Mexican restaurant by the tortilla chips and salsa. The tortilla chips at El Taco loco are thick, well done, and utterly unseasoned. If that's what you like, you'll have no issue. Everyone's different. I prefer thinner, lighter, fresh salted tortilla chips with a bit of oil. 4. No Sunday margaritas. : This is not meant to be a negative review, but rather an informative one - for both potential diners as well as El Taco Loco management. I'm not sure they have any control over the terms of their liquor license, but they certainly do have control over the other issues mentioned.
Great new place, nice casual atmosphere, prices higher than other Mexican restaurants but the portions and quality are better than most around. Try it out you won't be disappointed.
service was good. the carnitas tacos had good amount of meat. i dont get why the onions cilantro and salsa are presented in dishes instead of being put into the tacos. due to the interesting presentation of the meal i feel it loses its authenticity. the michelada was really good i enjoyed it very much. the tacos were rather bland. the meat was bland even if the portions were good. the toppings were rather bland. the hot sauces on the side were rather interesting and i tried the green version of one of the sauces. i nearly regretted it instantly because the spicyness kicked in and almost kicked me upside the head. the 3 carnitas taco platter was $12.50. the michelada was $8. so the price is also not very reasonable if you compare this place to taqueria guadalajara in columbus the price of this meal is nearly 50% higher. and if you compare this place to any place in california this place is still 50% higher in price. this is a good place to sit and enjoy an average somewhat less authentic mexican meal. dont get me wrong, the staff is authentic and almost comically try to give you an authentic experience by throwing in a few spanish words here and there. dont get me wrong, they provide very good friendly customer service to give patrons a comfortable dining experience. and if i was rating service only i would say service is 5 stars cant complain about the service. maybe my standards for mexican food is rather high because i am originally from california. there was no horchata nor lengua nor buche nor cabeza here. this place caters to the local demographics. some of the painting on the walls were interesting. i did not have bad experience here it was a good dining experience. but i will not say this place is authentic because if i did i couldnt call myself honest reviews.
