Best Puerto Rican Food in Jacksonville Florida. Flavorful PuertoRican food like home ! Wonderful staff and an amazing chef!
I have to say that the customer service from Mildred and the food was outstanding. Mildred’s willingness to assist, and caring to explain my blind friends the location she was placing the food, drinks etc. created a memorial experience. She didn’t leave the table until my friends had their utensils on their hand. I have to address my friends are very self-sufficient and independent since they have been blind for over 25 years, however Mildred’s running the extra mile for us have to be recognized. Mildred even hold the door opened when we were leaving to help me guide my two blind friends. Last but not least, to the lady/customer eating there and immediately stand up, when she saw me arriving to the restaurant to hold the door open as well for us, THANK YOU.
Good place. Very friendly personnel. Food taste very close of my motherland food. Good music while lunching.
Not my first time and not my last, El Taino is in a plaza off university with some solid eats. That doesnt mean they dont hold their own. With Puerto Rican favorites like Tripletafirst thing I had here and Mofongo, El Taino has been a solid lunch spot. This visit I had the Carne Frita con Trifongo/fried pork chunks with a yuca/cassava/plantain Mofongo. Took a little time to get to me to order but I was also a little indecisive. I ordered and it came out fast, hot and fresh. The pork was huge and juicy, fried perfectly. The trifongo was a first for me and delicious. A nice alternative to the traditional Mofongo. Nice cup of garlic dip and mayoketchup....wash it down with a beer and yeah, me and my belly are HAPPY!
Okay guys so if you are from Puerto Rico and miss the flavors from our island this is the place to go. My husband had the mofongo relleno de bistec a la criolla and I had the mofongo relleno de Churasco. The flavors were amazing the best we ever tried . The frappes were better then the ones in Orlando. Customer service was so amazing 10 stars for everyone and my compliments to the chefs.
Authentic home cooked flavors and dishes. Ambiance is relaxed and seating is plentiful. Ordered skirt steak with white rice, beans and sweet plantains. Skirt Steak cooked medium well as ordered had flavor, beans with the correct seasoning. I can only review the Skirt Steak since I have not tried other meals yet. Not salty for my taste, I normally eat salty food. Waitress was very friendly. This was the second time I have gone and I have not been disappointed. I left full and satisfied. Price is good.
The food was delicious and the wait staff were kind. There is a language barrier if you don't speak Spanish but they do have someone that does speak English If needed. If you want amazing Puerto Rican food this place hits the spot. We will be coming back again and againFood: 5/5
The food is absolutely amazing. As soon as you walk in you smell all the deliciousness happening behind the kitchen. Their menu has sooo many options. True Authentic Puerto Rican Cuisine. Their waiters are very friendly. I will definitely be back to enjoy more dishes I wanted to try.
Really good food and service. This restaurant has authentic Puerto Rican food from starters to full meals. We loved the empanadillas and regular food. You are not going to regret itFood: 5/5
Food was VERY good. A little pricey but you get alot of food. I can normally eat alot of food but it was very filling so you'll definitely get 2 meals out of it. With that being said, the only reason why I give 4 stars for the review is because nobody and I mean NOBODY speaks English here. I'm almost fluent in spanish, being self taught, so it's not an issue for me, but may be for someone that doesn't speak any Spanish. Have at least 1 person working there who can speak English fluently. That's my only gripe. Other than that I'll definitely be coming back!
