Just had a wonderful breakfast there for my daughter's dance school and everything was delicious. But the best things are the dinner menus. They have the best pulled pork you can ask for. Very tasty and tender, no fat and delicious bbq sauce to go with it. They also have great appetizers and a great lobster roll and fries special on Mondays. 
I highly recommend this place and is great for a family to go as well.

Atmosphere is ok. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Cocktail menu is great. Buffalo wings have nice flavor. Burgers were amazing, would definitely go back just for the burger!

Food is always great here, even better when it's half off for happy hour!  Bartenders are very informative and know how to tend a bar well.  It's clear the Elis brand continues to do well as they own multiple locations.  The branford hill location is in a nice area.  Weekends is more of a younger crowd and way more packed. Police always around to help keep people safe.

So. The staff is great no issues there. The food for the most part is great but on 3 separate occasions my boyfriend and I have gone and afterwards I have ended up with food poison. I have ordered different things Everytime and still the same result. And this time my boyfriend also got sick. So unfortunately it looks like we will not be going back to Eli's on the hill.

Just left there and we are shaking our heads at what a bad experience this was.  I do not usually take time to post reviews, but felt I owed it to those considering going here.  I'll start by saying we've gone to Eli's in Hamden many times and always had a good meal.  I cannot say the same at this location.
Atmosphere:. Ok.  They shoved into a corner just of the entrance in a window booth.  Felt very "diner" like.
Food: Just OK. It was super expensive for a limited selection of items.  $17 for 3 tiny fish tacos?.  It came with a bean tomato salsa in a big side dish, but no chips to go with it.  Very confusing.   Ahi tuna was good but wasn't paired well with an asparagus risotto.
Service:. Service was poor.  Our waitress seemed overwhelmed.  Never brought water that was requested.  Kept complaining about how busy it was and how she was running and there weren't enough waitresses. Never asked if we'd like a second round of drinks or water when our wine/beer ran out.  I was willing to overlook all of this until at the end when we were only just finishing our plates and with my mouth full, she asked if we wanted coffee or dessert.  (Uh, no.  I'm still eating my dinner.)On her way back to drop the check (still with dinner plates on the table), she mentioned how crowded the waiting area was and clearly was trying to get rid of us so she could turn over the table.  I have to explain that we were only on premises for 52 minutes total-we certainly weren't lingering. A lot to spend for a less than mediocre meal and service that really was inexcusable.
Sadly, we're officially done with Eli's on the Hill. ☹️
