The people are friendly and the visitor center is nice but we don’t come here to see a building. Have been here multiple times this year from June to October and have seen limited elk at the visitor center. Bad luck? Maybe. However, we have seen hundreds of elk in the area. There are lots of elk close by the visiter center perhaps if they had more trails you could see more elk. Drive around and check out all the elk in peoples fields you will have great viewings of wildlife.

Love this place. Make a trip every year to see or sometimes not see the elk. 2017 trip was a bust. But 2016 we saw well over 70 plus. It all depends on the weather. We will be back next year. I think next year we'll stay a few nights. Love Elk County.

My family visits each year. It can get a bit crowded along the trail. Some people wait here all day but your best chances to see elk are in early morning or at dusk. The elk bull calls are something you have to experience by being there. There is no substitute. If you want to go on a wagon ride, plan ahead and book a ticket. It sells out very quickly.

One of the best experiences in my whole life. Elks were almost 20 and came close but got scared by the carrier with other visitors and ran away just when we were enjoying the view. Such a pity. The centre offers activities for the kids which you can't find everywhere, to keep them entertained and other curiosities. Worth giving donations to the visitor centre. Recommended ;)

Nice place! It's very busy in the evening and I assume the morning which are the 2 times the elk are more likely to be out. We enjoyed our visit.
