My wife and I have recently moved to Sacramento from Ohio and been looking for the family dentist and glad that we have made the decision to have Elkhorn Family Dental for our dental needs. Based on my experience, I find Dr. Phen's and his staffs' practice is centered on caring for the unique/specific needs of each patient with the highest quality dental care. I would rank Elkhorn Family Dental as #1 in dependable, pleasant, and comfortable dental care service.

This is a very friendly clinic. All the employees greet you wth a smile. The dentist is a very knowledgeable doctor with concern about dental health.

Had emergency and was referred by friend. Got me in within 30 mins. Staff was friendly and the Dentist was blunt, direct and I felt scolded me a little bit. My teeth were extremely damaged due lack of money and it was so bad it had to be addressed. It had gotten dangerous and the doctor seemed annoyed with my questions because I was worried about teeth shifting after extraction. (My only complaint was I felt like he was annoyed with me and was making me feel ashamed for the condition of my teeth. However, at this point I felt ashamed anyway.) Also on another note I understood. He simply said the most important thing is your health and safety and getting them removed today. I was scared but I think he felt he needed to be firm so i understood how serious my condition was. Needless to say he spent a very long time numbing and removing allot of my teeth. Though I felt embarrassed and scolded a little I still will return and recommend. He took his time and made sure I was comfortable. They didnt rush me to leave and I had my own tv to watch the entire time. They even gave me a cold bottle water while I waited. Tooth infection can kill you if left untreated for too long and I really needed tough love. Thanks so much Doctor Phen. You were a great dentist and I cannot wait to finish the rest of the dental work. Thank you.

Great sense of urgency, yet time to listen to concerns and detail short term and long term dental options.
