Fabulous backdrop of the mountains and the lake are breathtaking enough to make almost any food edible but when you are camping for a week on the island I like to go with my friends to eat at Elkins. We went to Hills for years to eat consecutively but when Elkins was discovered it was a nearly a unanimous agreement that false breakfast and dinner are equally heads above the competition. I can only speak as a walk-in customer as I've never launched my boat from their ramp or stayed in their cabins, merely drunk at their bar and consumed countless meals at Elkins. I know it sounds like I'm on the places payroll or something but I cannot sing the praises of their seared halibut or steak enough!

Elkins Resort is located in Northern Idaho nestled among the mountains and right along the shore of Priest Lake. The majestic views that surround the resort are nothing short of awe inspiring and sure to help any guest relax and find comfort in the beauty of their surroundings. Staying during winter one can enjoy the snow covered surroundings with fun activities like cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and snow shoeing. An on site bar and restaurant provide quality food and beverages which are a little pricey but reasonable considering the isolated beauty enjoyed during a stay. Steaks, lobster, pasta and chicken are all on the menu and cooked to order with quality ingredients sure to satiate any appetite. Staying in the two story cabin with some friends, the accommodations we're spacious and comfortable. Hot water for showers was on par with many hotels in so much as that it never ran out so pampering yourself with a long shower is delightful. The gas fireplace on the first floor warmed up the room almost too well and the balcony upstairs provided respite with views of the woods and lake during relaxing contemplation. Satellite TV, and all the comforts of home from a full kitchen to washer and dryer made for a nice getaway. The only downside was limited internet which is isolated to the main Lodge itself limits your ability to share the gorgeous photos on social media you will capture staying here. Lastly the only other downside is the pillows, which for me were far too thick and fluffy, so bring one from home if you're the type who likes a little less elevation while sleeping. With those slight inconveniences this resort easily ranks among northern Idaho's top destinations to stay at during any season of the year. Highly recommend it.

My cousin had her wedding here. It was so a nice set up with wonderful staff. Everyone had an amazing time. It was a real struggle to leave.

The resort is great and has a fantastic location. We are staying in Cabin 3 and it is great! The staff are all fantastic. The ambiance of the restaurant is unbeatable. My wife and I had the 12 oz New York. She said hers was average. Mine on the other hand was disappointing. My cut should have never been served. It had an overabundance of fat. I ordered medium rare. It was overcooked and the abundance of fat was charcoal. For $31 I expect better. The rest of the meal was fine. I give my meal a 1 star and the resort a five.
