My mom and dad went there for years while I was growing up and had nothing but great service. I wish I could say the same. Back in February I got a flat tire and had it towed there  I had them look at it and they informed me it was just a flat and they would plug it. They did that. I picked it up the next day and by the next morning it was flat again. I then took it back. They looked at it again and then the guy informs me that the hole was on the side wall and he couldn't fix it. That was experience number one. Just this last week I got another flat. So again I took my car there. They looked at it and told me it was the rim and it had to be polished and evened out because the beading was bad. I picked it up and of course the next day the tire was flat again. I took it back. I called later that day and asked if it was ready and the guy said it was and I told them I was going to be there when they opened at 7am. I got there at 10 min. til and guess what the tire was flat out in there parking lot. I asked him what was up and guess what he said. The hole was in the side wall. I didn't make it to school that morning because of their incompetence. I will never go there again and both times I spent $15, but $30 is $30. Very unhappy. What pissed me off the most was I didn't even get an apology. I like to go to local businesses to help local business out, but with that type of service how do you not go to Walmart. At least they apologize. I ended up going to Marvin's Tire shop and guess what? My tire got fixed and hasn't gone flat. If these guys cant even change a tire I'm guessing they can do much more. I gave them one star just because of the service they did for my parents. DONT GO THERE!!!

Nothing better than an honest mechanic. Dealership said my brakes were gone, asked this shop to examine my brakes since I had no symptoms of brake trouble with my car. Ellis & Ellis confirmed that my brakes were completely fine. The individual I spoke with was knowledgeable, and was able to answer my questions with ease. I would recommend this mechanic to anyone.

Did you hear that? Wait, maybe you didn't, because my brakes are no longer squeaking or pulsating! Wha-hoooo!

We were referred to this place by a friend who told us of their phenomenal work and and even more phenomenal prices. We needed our front brakes done. We dropped off the car in the morning and they called us around two o'clock to tell us it was ready. I had forgotten to tell them I needed a tire plugged. When we got there they hadn't finished the plugging work because the guy I talked to on the phone was out to lunch. But the man we talked to said no problem he would do it for us. Fifteen minutes later I have a plugged tire and he DID NOT CHARGE me. Excellent, very excellent. All-in-all our tire expenditures were around $105. Not bad. Not bad at all.

My experience with Ellis & Ellis was unparalleled in terms of the honesty and fairness I received - not just in my experiences with car repair, but in all the customer service interactions I can remember.  There was a mixup with my car.  At first, the lack of organization was upsetting.  However, the issue was resolved above and beyond what I expected.  Ellis & Ellis not only waived the cost of the labor and parts, but also reimbursed me for the car rental I had to get.  To me, this is extraordinary.  This reimbursement will go right back into their register as they've got yet another happy customer for life.

I needed a new alternator on my Sonata.  Firestone wanted $500.  Ellis and Ellis did it quickly for $230.   I  wont go anywhere else in Rockford.  Skilled, honest mechanics.
