Story

The Restaurant is named for Elsie the Cow, the mascot for Borden Milk products. The Borden family created the infrastructure for the Hamlet of Wallkill and even had their "home farm" here. The name, "Elsie's Place" seemed a pleasant fit for the location of the restaurant and the town's heritage. Stop in for lunch, hop in for happy hour, or drop in for dinner Take out or Delivery.

Twenty-two people from my MeetUp group shared a wonderful lunchtime together at Elsie's Place. The pulled pork and the brisket were both delicious and beyond tender ...(everything else was good, too) ... and you definitely must try the cheesecake and the chocolate peanut butter pie.

For an appetizer we had the bavarain pretzels , this was one of the best pretzel appetizers I’ve ever had!  Cooked perfect and the dipping sauce was excellent and there was lots of it! We also had the pulled pork potato skins appetizer , font kid yourself this is a meal by itself... they were excellent but we only had 1 of the 3 it came with as we simply couldn’t eat all the food .. I had the linguine Del Mar , which was delicious , it did need a little salt and Parmesan cheese and it was perfect . Girlfriend had the Granny salad , I loved it she thought the Gorgonzola cheese was a little too strong .  Overall i was impressed with the food, service was ok , they seemed to be short staffed at the time of our visit , and our room was a little cold for our liking it was probably mid to low60s . I had to put my jacket back on.We will definitely be coming back here , best part for me is we live only 5-10 minutes away.

Unassuming gem with dranks and excellent BBQ. I'm usually not a fan of saucy smoked ribs but I'm making a damn exception for Elsie's. Brisket dip sandwich is excellent, one of my favorite sandwiches.

Lovely little place. The pretzels are to die for!!!!! So crisp and soft!

Food terrable ...service the worst I have EVER seen ..except for Chris he was nice ...I was so sick when I got home ..they have a all you can eat crab legs ...the waitress threw them on the plate ...they give 5 or 6 snow crab legs ..they were brown..half empty ..and tasted fishy ..the owner who didn't have any expression  or excuse except this is the way they come in the box ..then they put a 20% tip on the bill ...you have no choice ...that's why the waitress was so rude ....terrable  DONT GO ....we paid 40 each plus tax ..then they added to the tip with the tax ...for,a disgusting  meal ..rude service ....owner Did nothing ....and we got stuck in there unplowed tiny lot ...after paying over 110.00 for a awful experience....
