The lobby to the police station has a great collection of interesting historical police department artifacts. Regarding the police force itself, they are quick to respond to situations that require a quick response. I have never in had a single bad experience with the EPD in my life. Everyone I've ever met or talked to, that was employed by the EPD, has been extremely professional, patient, and no nonsense. I think that they do a fine job. My guess is that if you have a problem with them, then you are probably a problem.

Extremely rude. Wouldn't assist me in a theft of over 1500 with a report but she would interrupt me so much I couldn't tell her there is a report. That's right cops in Ohio don't enforce the law they only rape women in public shoot children and make false charges on people typical cips

They take forever to get to someone's house when in need.

I live in CA and was having trouble reaching an elderly friend in Elyria.  After 2 weeks of leaving messages and checking obituaries, I finally requested a welfare check from the PD.  Three police showed up at his door the same day and found him to be okay.  He had been in the hospital, then neglected to check his messages after release.
I am so impressed with this response that I wanted to give your department credit. Plus he tells me they were very kind.
Much appreciated!

The dispatchers are extremely rude and like to hang up on people who call.
