Clean and well maintained! 
Emerald Lake Campground is located in the Custer National Forest in southwest Montana. At an elevation of 6,400 feet, the campground encompasses 15 acres. Amenities included are tables and fire-rings for each of the 32 campsites. Restrooms and hand-pumped water are provided for campers. Fishing and hiking opportunities are nearby. The maximum recommended trailer length for the area is 30 feet.

Fantastic grounds right next to a stream. Let the babbling brook wake you up in the morning! Trailhead to mystic lake is close by.

I have no idea how the low ground camping sites at the base of the mountains are as I have always camped up the mountain getting further in every time but I LOVE this area. The mountains, paths, and wilderness are beautiful and of the 4 times I've camped here I have truly loved each trip. The hike up the switchback trail can be quite a bit draining especially if you aren't used to hikes like that. But the scenery is gorgeous. My last visit in 2011 we reached the peak as a fog was rolling in and the site was spectacular. Definitely worth a trip especially if you hike up the trail to the peak of the mountains well past the dam.
