Not a good experience. Felt like a number, waited hours to see a "therapist" who didn't listen to me and discredited my experiences for about 15 minutes then gave me a referral to a counselor who had no idea how to deal with my mental illness.

Emergency mental health in this community is run by UHS so there for it is run by corporation. No matter what corporation it is any corporations main goal is to make as much money as they can. UHS's main goal is to push as many pharmaceuticals on their patients as they can so that they can make as much money as they can. Notice how rarely you'll see any private practices anymore. Many of these doctors have been sued and put out of business because of Medical malpractice. UHS like many other corporate hospitals have thought of a way around this by prescribing as many pharmaceuticals as they can. All and all it just adds to an endless cycle of drug addiction and mental illness.

This place was hell! Spent 10 days there - spoke to a so called therapist ONE TIME! at which point she informed me my treatment would continue out patient. What a joke!

The staff will just send you to the looney bin. Don't go here for he unless you specifically want to go to the bin. They don't help anyone, just send you to bin.

I just want to say that this program is a Godsend. Even though I had to wait countless hours to be seen....it was worth every minute. Charles in the CPEP department is one of the kindest, most understanding people that I have ever met in the healthcare field. Don't let the wait deter you, they will truly help you to find your way.
