Hands down the most friendly and knowledgeable staff in the area.  Yes the bikes are awesome, yes the prices and the free tune ups for life are really great, yes it's right next to some world-class trails, but the atmosphere and community is why you should go to Epicenter.  I had been to 4-5 other shops and now I'm never going anywhere else.

John and Victoria are especially cool if you get a chance to work with them.

There are many great bicycle shops in Santa Cruz. I chose to go to this one because my friend bought his bike here and had good things to say.
I went in to replace a tube, and get some tools and information so I could do it myself in the future. Everyone was great, and Im pretty confident that I can change my tube in the future - maybe not as quickly, but you know, baby steps.
They have several female mechanics and female staff.  Things like that are important to me.

It has been more than 10 years since I bought my first bike in the East Coast. My buying experience here was totally different. The attentive and friendly service totally impressed me! Highly recommended.
