From the moment you walk in the store till the moment you leave the place with the bottle of (as you discover later) excellent wine from the grape you haven't heard ever before - this place is a hidden gem of Capitol Hill. The owner is an older gentleman (with a charming dog!) that has encyclopedia knowledge of wines and is so welcoming to any level wine enthusiast. The atmosphere, affordable prices and great wine - european wines has it all. How is it possible? Most of the wines is made out of not so popular grapes and/or imported from not well known regions. Big bold red wine from Etna was so great I couldn't believe it. I bet it could compete with young Brunello easily. But costed me only 15 dollars! If you are willing to try something new, discover new places on the map of the wine world, taste unfamiliar grapes and save money (plus support small business) this place is for you. This store hides the wine you won't find on a supermarket shelve and the love to the wine and customer that I never met on the supermarket aisle. P.S. This store does have some great Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabs, Merlot and etc. However, if you feel adventurous... try fruity rose - Viura grape from Rioja, or red - Nerello Mascalese grape from Etna.

great local shop with personal help. they select wines from their many yeared experienced palates and international wine industry knowledge. as a locally cooperatively owned shop they keep price mark-ups minimal as well. what a great bonus. great wines at affordable prices.
