THERE ARE SPECIAL OPS AMONG US My husband and I have been permanents for some years now. The owner was super nice when we bought but my how things changed. It seemed like as soon as we closed and were out the door of the store he turned from Dr Jekyll into Mr Hyde. Sort of a shame because the campground is nice but him acting the way he does really leaves a sour taste in everyone's mouth. We for many years have tried warming up to him but he admittedly is an a-hole (his words) and that is apparently his business model. There are some permanents, and even a couple individuals who own outside the park (J&J), that have been somewhat successful in befriending him to the point they are actually able to talk to him and be acknowledged when in the park itself. Be very careful what you do and what you say. There are some among the permanents (J&J especially) who try to make points with the owner by running to him and reporting things they overheard or saw. Of course if you ever get confronted about them by the owner he will most likely be in a tantrum where you need to just shut your mouth and not defend yourself. It's like he tries to bait you into a confrontation so he can kick you out of his campground. All seems like a page out of our grade school days. Such a shame.

We've returned from another wonderful visit to Evergreen. What a great laid back, family-friendly place! The kids had so much fun on the sandy beach, riding their bikes around the grounds, playing mini-golf, using the jumping pillow, and swimming in the pool. The adults had equally as much fun relaxing, meeting new friends, and spending time in the new adult pool. Turn off your phone and enjoy a low-key visit during the week or jump in on the fun during the weekends. I'm surprised reading some of the negative reviews-- those have never been our experience and I always hope that those are the type of people that are not camping next to our site. Ha! Staff is friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back.

Blast From the Past Confirmation I was a permanent for many years but sold a few years ago. I recently heard from someone considering going to Evergreen, that there were some reviews provided and couldn't resist taking a look. Let me tell you I could not agree more with the comments on the owner. The campground itself is nice, but there is a trade-off. You're only going to enjoy it as much as you can avoid the owner. If you ever have to deal with him you will need to bite your tongue. Not sure what happened to this guy as a kid but he treats everyone terrible, demands that you fear him, and is on a total power trip. If you ever consider buying an existing unit in the park you have to ask yourself if it is also worth what you are paying if it gets pulled out. If you have any run-ins with the owner because you did something he didn't like, and then do the normal thing when someone talks to you the way he does, he will threaten you with getting kicked out and having to pull that unit out of the park. I witnessed it many times. Surprised more people haven't spoken their mind or even gotten physical with this guy. So if the camper or mobile home your are in is worth significantly less outside the park on it's own, your actions could cost you some cash. He gets a 7% commission if you sell so you would think he would rather see you sell but he would get a $500 disconnect fee regardless. You've been warned.

WHAT A JOKE!!!! Earlier this year we booked a weekend at Evergreen. We had been there before and thought it was a nice place. Pricey but nice. So thought we'd give it another shot. After we booked something came up and we needed to cancel. Keep in mind the weekend we had booked was still a month away. We called to cancel and were informed that we would receive a Evergreen gift card for the amount we were charged for the site. No exceptions. This would have been fine if we were able to just switch to a different weekend. So we were stuck with a gift card that was only good at the stupid campground. I was thinking about trying to sell it on Craigslist and saw others were doing the same. Even offering them at a discount just to get rid of them and recoup some of what they lost. Be careful when booking so that you don't have to cancel. Or better yet, find a gift card on Craigslist for a discount and pay that way. I'm not going to try that place again. Seems there are plenty of other options where they are a little more accommodating.
