The Evergreen Cat Lodge, formerly the Inn at Soda Creek, is a luxurious boarding facility which offers individually decorated rooms for cats only. Each room is unique and is designed to resemble a home environment, ensuring a comfortable, safe and healthy atmosphere for feline guests.
Owners, Mike and Susan Nocket, live on-site and treat each guest as their own pet. “Our goal is to provide for your cat’s every need,” says Susan, whose passion for cats started while working with cat rescue. “We want to give cat owners an alternative to traditional cat boarding.”
Mike and Susan opened the Cat Lodge in the fall of 2008 following a year of extensive remodeling. The Cat Lodge consists of 32 suites ranging from economy to V.I.P. (Very Important Pet). Most suites have exterior windows which allow feline guests to bathe in the sun or watch wildlife roam the nine acre property. All the suites are exceptional and offer variety whether it’s curling up on a handcrafted afghan in front of an electric fireplace, lounging in a leather chair or getting pampered with one-on-one time in a rocking chair.
While all the suites offer a comfortable environment, they also offer a stress free, healthy environment. The Cat Lodge is outfitted with state-of-the-art air filtration and purification systems and ensure an odor-free environment by housing litter boxes in custom-made enclosures equipped with continuous ventilation. In addition, each cat or cat family resides in its own suite and are separate from other cat families.
“Stress is a serious issue for cats,” says Mike, who left the corporate world in pursuit of his and Susan’s passion for cats. “Since boarding can be stressful, we strive to provide an environment that is as close to home as possible.” They also keep a checklist for each cat and cat family above the door containing contact information, special feeding instructions, medications and individual preferences. “We tell our clients not to be too surprised if their cats are in no hurry to leave – cat’s like to stretch their vacations too,” says Susan.
The Cat Lodge offers premium services such as pick-up and drop-off, and, in the near future, will offer cat grooming as well as webcams in each suite allowing owners to “visit” and have peace of mind while away.
