I have been a client of Exton Vet Clinic going on 5 years. I knew Doc Shannon would be my next Vet before I even had my current pet...I think that speaks volumes. EVC came up as a 'recommended FB page' so I took a look and immediately liked what I saw. Always posting informative and useful info about pet care, countless instances about spending the night at the clinic...away from her family...to keep close eye on patients who needed to be checked in short intervals. Crummy weather? You can count on her to give updates about conditions and an invite to stop in for coffee or soup! I'm there about every 5 weeks so I've observed many interactions between her, clients and patients. All are treated with respect, compassion and no one leaves without knowing the plan going forward. The Doc seems to be intuitive with animals, has medical skills and knowledge that are always current and will never 'upsell' you on services not needed. As great a Vet she is, Doc Shannon is, in fact, a greater person. Can't tell you how many org's she's involved with...a big supporter of causes in the area...during the year she's always involved in fund raisers/food drives/clothing drives/Xmas drives, etc, etc, etc. The most important thing to me in any medical relationship...whether mine or my pet, is having a good rapport with a provider. I doubt you'll find any better then Doc Shannon at the Exton Vet Clinic...if you're looking for a Vet I highly recommend EVC!

It's taken me over a year to write this review. But I've never felt so strongly about something. If this spares one person a horrible experience, then it's worth it. We recently moved to the area and were looking for a vet. We settled on this clinic. We took our 8 year old retriever in for a checkup and basic shots. The vet convinced us to have the large lump removed on her leg (which had been there for years). The day of the surgery, we picked up our dog. She was still bleeding from her stitches, and no where near fully recovered from anesthesia. We took her home and she wouldn't get up and continued to urinate where she laid. This went on for over 24 hours. I have no idea how anyone could send home a dog that was still under anesthesia. To make a long story short, our dog was never the same. Removing the lump started a chain reaction of side effects that we battled for almost two years. I regret taking her to that vet. I regret letting someone convince me to remove a lump on an 8 year old dog. Also, every review mentioning the unprofessionalism of this clinic is spot on. I've never ever seen a veterinary hospital with such a lax attitude toward customer service and care.

The most caring Vet (Shannon) and staff (Mary) I have ever been too in my 50+ years of owning dogs and I thought I had the best before! My old vet retired and Shannon was one of two of her recommendations. Everyone very caring, truly want to know your pet, work patiently with your pet, listen to you and work with you above and beyond. They make it easy to get medications and go to extremes to make sure you have access to obtain any needs of your pet.

Dr. Shannon is the best!!! She has taken care of my 2 boys for years and they actually like going to see her. She has a way of making them feel like they are visiting and never even realise they got there shots 😉. Honest and sinsear.💖💖💖

If you want to be a "number" and surround yourself and your pets in a "cold and sterile" environment, do not go to Exton Vet Clinic. Dr. Shannon and staff treat you and your furry babies like part of the family. Her medical knowledge and surgery skills rank highly but she actually also CARES about her patients. I switched to this clinic after the untimely death of my dog at age 7. When he unexpectedly passed at home, I called my former vet in profound grief to tell him my dog was dead - I didn't know what to do...his response: "so....what do you want me to do about it". I was taken aback - I couldn't believe it. After switching vets, I have come to know Dr. Shannon, her staff, and even the kids. They actually care about my animals (I have 5) and treat them with extraordinary care. Yes, sometimes I wait to be seen, yes, sometimes it takes a few minutes to check out - but that is because they are dealing with other patients or emergencies or giving someone else the same kindness they have shown me. I don't think that is something you get at a large clinic where you are just another customer. Thanks Dr. Shannon!
